Maintenance Technician of Fully Automated Production Line

Expat Service Group is recruiting Maintenance Technicians for Volvo Cars Ghent in Belgium

• You analyze and solve malfunctions (electrical, mechanical, PLC, frequency control, motors, pumps, engines etc.) on fully automated production installations.
• You optimize automated production plants in terms of production output, quality and technical reliability.
• You perform preventive and corrective/curative maintenance tasks. You take a number of installations out of service and check them in order to avoid failure.
• You identify, repair or replace defective systems or components (e.g. sensors, parts of the installation etc.) of industrial automated installations in accordance with regulations, machine specifications, documentation, etc.
• You will receive the necessary training and support and pass this on to your colleagues.
• You will be closely involved in the introduction of new installations, processes and new car models.
• You will work in a team with your fellow technicians.

• You have a technical degree or equivalent by experience, preferably: A bachelor’s degree in Energy Technology, Electromechanics, etc. or secondary specialization year in Electrical Installation Techniques, Measurement and Control Techniques, etc.
• Being certified according to BA4 or BA5 would be a bonus.
• You have experience with automated production lines and PLC-controlled machines.
• You are passionate about automation, PLC and robotics (e.g. Siemens TiA, SattLine, Profinet, CamarC3G, ABB, IRC5 etc.).
• You follow up on the latest technological developments.
• You have a strong analytical and problem solving capacity.
• You take initiative and show the will to grow and expand your knowledge.
• You are flexible regarding your responsibilities.
• You are willing to work in a 2 shift system or the permanent night shift.
• You have good and clear English skills at B2-C1 level, this is the language you will communicate in.
• You have to be willing to learn Dutch over time. Volvo provides lessons.

Expat Service Group is recruiting Instrumentation Technicians for FMA Services in Belgium. 

QA/QC:

• Inspecting and verifying installations performed by other firms.
• Ensuring hookup alignment matches schematics and technical documentation.

Pre-Commissioning:

• Conducting system tests before operational startup.
• Verifying DPS system readiness, testing signal loops, and simulating process values.

Commissioning:

• Introducing products into the system while ensuring strict adherence to safety standards.
• Applying knowledge of chemistry, physics, and industrial safety.

• Performing field testing, loop checks, and functional testing to validate instrumentation and control systems.
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical and measurement control faults (error detection, measuring signals, calibrating transmitters, signal transmitters (4-20mA, 0-10V)).
• Connecting and disconnecting instrumentation and actuators (electrical, pneumatic).
• Adjusting, testing and calibrating of valves and sensors.
• Analyzing and thoroughly interpreting technical documents and schematics.
• Operating and ensuring compliance with Profibus, Honeywell and HART communication protocols.
• Work in team-based environments, sometimes rotating team members based on project needs.

• You have a technical degree in an electricity-dominated study or equivalent by experience.
• You have a few years of experience in a similar position in the I&C domain, oil & gas, or mining industry.
• You have a strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, automation, physics and chemistry.
• Experience with SCADA, DCS and VSD testing is a bonus.
• You are VCA certified or you are willing to take the training.
• You are flexible to work on different projects in different companies in the Antwerp or Ghent region. Occasionally there is a project in the Netherlands or abroad but this is not the standard.
• You have experience with all types of communication protocols (example: Profibus).
• You have experience a diverse range of measuring devices (pressure measurements, temperature measurements, flow measurements, analysis measurements etc.).
• You have a basic knowledge of electricity related to measurement & control technology (AC power supplies, DC power supplies, electrical signals 110V, 4-20mA, 1-10V, earth potential etc.).
• You follow up on the latest technological developments.
• You have a strong analytical and problem solving capacity.
• You have the mentality and technical knowledge to be able to work autonomously. You can also work together in small teams without any problems. Your team changes often, but the same people will return.
• You have a safety mindset and you understand ATEX guidelines.
• You are flexible regarding your task package.
• You have good and clear English skills at B2-C1 level, this is the language you will communicate in.
